Fault in Our Stars

First of all, I watched the movie, not read the book. POV I give will be based on the movie. Overall, it’s a decent movie. If you are melancholic person, I recommend it. If you are ignorant, you should watch it. But if you are easily depressed, you should only watched it in a happy condition, with happy and optimistic friends. It’s an anticipation to make you will still be able to do something productive on the next day.

No, the movie is not that gloomy. You will never tell yourself, “he should have done this, she should have done that” that make you depressed and screaming to the sky (yep, totally different with the latest Transformer). I think the story written quite flawless, you can understand the characters, hence you can easily immersed to the story and held captive.

There are some parts that interesting for me. I am going to describe it started from the most interesting.

Middle of sentence ending

It’s about a book that ended with half finished sentence. It’s an interesting idea, but totally overkill. There are many books that ended with many things not being told. Often it given to reader to fill it with their imagination, or there will be another sequel. A really really good book will give a satisfied ending, a balance between the unknown and the known, that tickle readers imagination to fill it with their own version.

But still, it’s an interesting idea. And it can’t be applied to many context, only in story that have tragic ending, where the story teller died at the end of story.

“Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”

The simple example given to explain it was, real numbers between 0 and 1, vs  real numbers 0 and 2. Both are infinite, but intuition will make real numbers between 0 and 2 seems more than between 0 and 1.

It’s an interesting concept, but infinities are infinities and by concept it’s boundless. (Although there is something called continuum hypothesis)

Still, moral of the story, what given to you is boundless, when you asked for something, you are actually asking to increase the bound of the boundless. I mean, say thanks for what you have, you already have so many things, you know. Oh, it doesn’t mean you can’t ask, don’t misinterpreted it.

“Pain is to be Felt “

(or something like that)

I don’t know about you, but pain is perfectly okay in life. No matter who you are, life will go up and down, there will be joy and pain. With pain, you understand joy. With failure, you able to undestand success.

Also, pain is really need to be felt. DON’T RUN AWAY from the pains. Quote from another book, “Embrace the pain”. When you are able to past the pain, you will be able to  grow up. Like my love often said, you need to pass the exam before able to take the next level and the next step.

“Some people don’t understand the promises they’re making when they make them”

It’s just a reminder for me. My reaction is, it’s not I don’t understand, but I think I understand. Well, I still think it’s better to try than to give up.

3 Idiots

Baru selesai nonton. Padahal seharusnya gw sedang kuliah kalkulus tapi malah kabur dan nonton 3 idiots di sekre KMPA. Hahaha.

*padahal bolos kalkulus* :hammer:

Anyways, it’s worth watched for engineers!!
